We try to switch up Hilton resorts whenever we visit Carlsbad, but we liked it best staying closest to the beach, and thus I made sure to book the Carlsbad Seapointe Resort probably 9 months ahead because it was so hard to get a reservation in this particular resort using Hilton Grand Vacations Club points specially in the summer time.

Here are three reasons why you too should stay at the

Carlsbad Seapointe Resort

1. Location

Carlsbad Seapointe Resort is in its perfect location overlooking the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, in the quite southern end of the city.

The view from our veranda.

One of the beautiful sunsets we witnessed.

The get to the beach, you take a short walk across the street, through the Carlsbad State Beach Campsite and go down the beach access stairs, and then you can enjoy the fine white sand and the rolling Pacific waves.

Notice those multiple surfers in black suits in the water. It was a good day to surf!

The stairs access down to the beach.

We love taking morning walks along the beach, boogie boarding or just playing in the sand and the mild warm weather  always allowed us to enjoy these beach activities.

The resort is about 10 minutes drive to the north end of the town to Carlsbad Village where you can find bars, restaurants, shops and boutiques.

Dinner at Sushi Yama. We love sitting outside so we can listen to the band playing at the Coyote Ugly Bar downstairs.

We love going here in the evenings to have dinner, walk around or hang out at the courtyard and enjoy the laid back atmosphere of the area.

Visitors hang out around this fountain area and little kids run around having fun!

And if you have little ones who loves theme parks, LegoLand is less than 10 minutes away.

And all other must do family attractions are all a short drive away, like the Carlsbad Lagoon for water sports, Museum of Music for the musically inclined or a visit to the flower blooms at the Carlsbad Flower Fields in springtime.

2. Resort Amenities

The lobby is newly renovated with bigger space and furnished with upholstered comfortable sofas and chairs.

The most important and impressive feature of the lobby are the pleasant and helpful staff at the check in counter or at the activities center and at the concierge counter.

This little Kiosk at the lobby can provide immediate nourishment for the hungry.

The business center has computers and a printer for your IT needs like following up on your flight itineraries or printing boarding passes.

We love any activities involving the water, and so if you stay at this resort, you don’t have to carry beach and pool equipment because you can just borrow it complimentary from the resort.

Beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, sand toys, pool floaties and toys are available at the Activities Center.

They have a tennis, basketball and volley ball courts.

Troy and Clydri lost plenty of tennis balls (over the fence) here.

They have table tennis and pool table too just outside the lobby.

They even have a putting green which the children enjoyed and the grounds were very clean and well maintained.

And a play area for toddlers.

And a heated family pool and spa and a separate adult pool and spa as well.

Our children was from our previous visit last year.

There is also a Fitness Center and resort hosted activities like an afternoon wine and cheese, cookies and champagne, among other activities at the brand new patio outside the lobby.

The children had a lot of fun using most of the amenities. The resort amenities provided perfect bonding opportunities for the young cousins.

We put the BBQ grill to good use for our Sunday brunch with steak and everything else. This is actually the first time that all of us enjoyed most of the amenities at a resort.

They also have a clubhouse with ocean views for wedding receptions and other special events.

There are plenty of parking space underground and is easily accessed and you can go up the elevator or stairs to your unit floor, but since our room was on the south end of the property, street parking was easier for us.

We chose to street park because it was closer to our room compared to parking underground.

3. Comfort and Experience

Some of our main priorities in choosing a resort is comfort, the home away from home experience and of course savings.

Carlsbad Seapointe Resort is a condominium resort and all units (one or two bedrooms) has a full kitchen for you to fix quick breakfast and it is even equipped to whip up elaborate meals as well. Our family of six saved a lot when we can make our own breakfast on a vacation and maybe eat out for lunch or dinner when we are out exploring.

We had fun reminiscing our childhood days making homemade twists with my mom!

They actually have a decent quality stainless steel cookware.

The large living room is furnished with beautiful and comfortable sofa and chairs and a large flat screen TV.

The sofa bed is an added sleeping space for our large family.

We had the 2 bedroom unit and the master suite is large with a very comfortable king bed, a large vanity with his and hers sinks, a large storage closet and a separate toilet and bath.

The 2nd bedroom has 2 full beds and a small closet just enough for the children’s luggage.

The veranda on the other hand is a delight with ocean views and sunset views and is equipped with table and chairs and a chaise. The teen cousins love to hang out there and enjoy each other’s company.

Each unit has a big veranda.

This is actually our second time staying at this resort and we enjoyed it more this time because my brother’s family and my sister’s family were with us and of course our mom too.

The Cost

The cost for a one night stay could range from about $160 USD to $240 USD excluding taxes and fees, which is a comparable pricing to other hotels and resorts nearby.

With the perfect weather and location, combined with the excellent resort amenities and multiple activities available, this place is perfect for family getaways or a week’s vacation in this Southern California city.

Vacation is more fun when it is spent with more family members that you enjoy having around.
